With a wide range of conduit styles and specialized services, Sandale Ontario has all of the protection and routing solutions for HDPE conduits of every shape and size.
Sandale Ontario’s HDPE (high-density polyethylene) conduit is most often used to protect electrical power and telecommunications cables. Being made of polyethylene, HDPE conduits are everything you need: resistant to corrosion and chemicals, flexible, corrosion and chemical resistant, durable, and available in long reel lengths to reduce joints and installation time.
The page outlines the primary conduits available through Sandale Ontario. If your project requires an HDPE conduit solution outside the scope of these options, Sandale Ontario can work with you to source or customize the right conduit for your project.
Microtechnology Conduits
MicroTechnology involves small conduits to house fibre cables that are smaller in size, but still carry significant capacity. Each conduit can carry from 6 up to 432 fibres, which have a thinner diameter than standard fibres.
MicroDucts can be bundled under a sheath called FuturePath, which leaves space for more efficient telecommunications expansion in the future.
MicroDucts
These HDPE MicroDucts are available from 5mm OD – 27mm OD and co-extruded with SILICORE®ULF permanent lining to reduce friction on cable installs. These are often used to utilize existing space in an occupied duct to substantially reduce construction costs and time.
Make finding your wire location easy with these MmicroDucts constructed of 1 x 20 AWG insulated copper locate wire. They can accommodate fibre drops from 1.2mm to 11mm and are wrapped in oversheath for harsh conditions.
Available in (OD/ID) 12.7/10mm and 18/14mm, the extra-high-strength galvanized steel strand makes deploying fibre easier than ever before, saving valuable time.
A conduit for immediate use, as well as an empty fibre pathway for future growth, is what you get when you choose this 8.5/6 mm Microduct and RG6 Coax cable. Both the MicroDuct and Coax cable can be riser-rated.
A pre-installed pull string allows for fast fibre installations, while a SILICORE® lining makes cable installation even easier without using wet lubes inside buildings. These MicroDuct Risers can also be purchased empty without the pull string.
Made from fire retardant materials which are fully ETL-approved for Plenum applications, these MicroDucts are available from 5mm OD – 27mm OD and are available empty, or with either a single fibre cord (cable) or pull string pre-installed.
FuturePath
FuturePath is two or more MicroDucts bundled and protected by an oversheath. It can be installed using standard Outside Plant (OSP) installation methods. No special tools or equipment are required.
This conduit contains a row of MicroDucts joined by a thin web of HDPE, allowing for easy separation and routing. Future Path Flex can be configured in multiple ways, and can be placed vertically, horizontally, or rolled into a round shape for vibratory plow or directional drilling.
This popular and cost-effective option includes different-sized conduits or MicroDucts FuturePath configuration combining popular MicroDuct sizes with common Smoothwall duct sizes.
Large-scale future possibilities have met their match with ‘Jumbo’. This conduit includes 2, 3 or 4 smaller conduits, available in a wide range of sizes and wall types.
Up to seven MicroDucts are bundled with a polyethylene oversheath, in addition to a 1/4" galvanized steel strand. No special tools or equipment are required for installation.
Not only does this have up to a 19-way bundle of MicroDucts, but they are protected by an industry-leading Zetabon steel armour wrap to protect the pathways for protection in harsh environments or against rodents.
For easy installation in an aerial setting, the FuturePath Aerial MicroDucts are factory bundled with a polyethylene oversheath with external ribs for easy gripping of lashing wire.
Configured with two to 24 MicroDucts, the FuturePath Riser is available from 5mm to 12.7mm and is often used within buildings in either vertical or horizontal applications or directly to workstations as drops.
Multiple MicroDucts are bundled in a specially designed oversheath, perfectly designed to be installed in plenum applications, such as spaces that facilitate airflow for HVAC systems.
Standard HDPE
Standard High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) conduits are exceptional performers for standard underground applications, as inner ducts in existing conduits or corrugated products to use in congested areas.
HDPE is a flexible and resilient material that is resistant to natural or mechanical damage and has excellent low-temperature properties to handle cold weather.
Smoothwall HDPE ducts perform well in all environments (aerial, direct buried, and underground) and are highly customizable based on your application. They are bendable, have continuous lengths, have low-temperature properties and simplify future installation, repairs or replacement.
Manufactured from flexible HDPE, the internal longitudinal ribbing reduces friction during cable placement, helping to ensure the conduit’s longevity. Its long lengths and optional UV protectant is great for aerial/lashed placement.
The internal longitudinal ribs reduce friction, while the external ribs help prevent spiralling and reduce friction when pulling the inner duct into larger conduits. Available with optional Silicore ULF permanently lubricated lining.
CoExtruded conduit is an ideal choice for providing visual utility or end-use of conduit identification. The black inner wall has a minimum of 2% carbon black while the co-extruded color layer has UV stabilizers and antioxidants.
Manufactured from flexible HDPE, this rugged corrugated design is flexible and lightweight while providing excellent crush resistance. In doing so, it has great long-term cable protection from shifting ground, rock, and root impingement.
For the installation and protection of electrical cables underground, NEMA TC7 is available from ½" to 8", provides outstanding long-term cable protection and can be encased in concrete.
Meet or exceed the HDPE resin requirements with this conduit that can be joined with our ETL/UL-listed Shur-Lock II coupler. It protects cables from shifting ground, increases underground cable life and can even be encased in concrete.
HDPE Sticks can be joined with a mechanical coupler based on size and applications or joined with butt fusion. Sticks come in 2" – 8" sizes and are available in grey, red or black.
Our popular HDPE duct has a smooth outer wall and internal longitudinal ribs for a reduced coefficient of friction. They come available as parallel or divided reels – up to three conduits.
