Sandale is known across Canada for its team of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) experts who supply our country’s greatest businesses with polyethylene pipes, fusion equipment and parts. But to truly understand Sandale’s capabilities, you need to understand that we have access to hundreds of piping solutions to ensure every customer is completely satisfied.
Not only do we stock and supply, but we help to troubleshoot your dilemma, install (and fuse) HDPE pipes and ensure things are running as they should.
Types of Pipes
Sandale’s selection of pipes caters to most Canadian industry needs and requirements. Let’s take a closer look at the various types of pipes, highlighting their characteristics and uses, and providing insight into the range of choices available through Sandale.
HDPE Pipes
These are Sandale’s premier HDPE pipes that give our customers a leak-free, corrosion-resistant and versatile pipeline experience with an estimated lifetime longer than most of the people reading this article! HDPE pipes are used in many industries, from municipal water systems to nuclear energy production to waste management (landfill gas collection).
HDPE sections are bonded using fusion technology, helping to ensure that leaks are kept to a minimum and land contamination is minimized.
Dual Containment HDPE Pipes
Dual containment pipes (also known as double containment pipes) provide extra safety and environmental protection in fragile areas. They are often used in industries where leakage or spills can have severe consequences, such as chemical processing, oil and gas and hazardous material transportation.
These pipes actually contain two pipes: an outer pipe and an inner pipe. In the event of a leak or failure in the inner pipe, the outer pipe acts as a secondary barrier, preventing the release of hazardous substances and minimizing the risk of contamination.
This additional layer of protection offers peace of mind and helps maintain a secure and controlled operating environment.
Insulated HDPE Pipes
Sandale’s insulated HDPE pipes combine the benefits of HDPE pipes with thermal insulation.
The pipes’ integrated insulation layer helps to maintain the temperature of the fluid being transported, improves energy efficiency, and prevents heat loss or gain, making them ideal for systems that require temperature control and conservation.
Insulated HDPE pipes are available through Sandale in a range of dimensions to suit your project requirements, and are perfectly designed for industries such as district heating and cooling, geothermal systems and industrial process piping.
Corrugated HDPE Pipes
Our corrugated HDPE pipes are versatile piping solutions known for their flexibility, durability and fast installation. They are commonly used in industries such as agriculture, stormwater management, drainage systems and culvert applications.
Their corrugated exterior provides added strength and allows for flexibility in challenging terrain. It also enhances the HDPE pipe resistance to soil movement, abrasion and impact, making them ideal for applications that require reliable and long-lasting underground or above-ground piping systems.
HDPE Duct (Conduit) Pipes
Sandale’s HDPE duct (conduit) pipes are the preferred choice for many applications, such as fibre optic cable systems as well as cables for highly complex and vulnerable systems, such as those found at airports and other locations requiring control and signalling.
HDPE’s durability resists corrosion, abrasion and chemical reactions. This enables HDPE duct and conduit pipes to withstand harsh Canadian environmental conditions without deteriorating. As a result, these pipes have a long lifespan, reducing the need for frequent replacements and maintenance, thus leading to cost savings in the long run.
The interior walls of HDPE duct pipes also have super slippery cores, allowing for easy
installation of cables and reducing damage.
HDPE Telecom Micro Ducts
Our microduct is a great solution for a Multi-Fiber applications, primarily for fibre optic cables. These small ducts protect cables have lengths up to 10,000 feet and are often used for high-speed Internet. Its HDPE construction resists the amount of dust and moisture that can impact the flow of data.
Not only is installation fast and efficient, but the ability to add more cables down the road, as neighbourhoods grow, makes upgrading a breeze. This limits the amount of exvacation and user disruption.
